Pulling my Strings
Posted by Purple Law Lady
I just spent the whole day (and I mean about 8 hours) with my 6-year-old niece, Hannah. Holy Cow – am I about to pass out (now that’s she has gone)!
I
t’s school holidays here in Australia so I thought that I’d do my part and start an arts and craft project with her. I have to be careful, as the last time we spent a day together we had a dress up and photo day and her father hasn’t let her come back since! I figured arts and crafts was a nice safe activity.
We started the day at the giant hardware store for paint, glue and a staple gun. Then it was down the street for a stop at the Op shops, in case there was anything great to add to our project. Cheese pizza for lunch, then to some actual work.
When I received my washing machine and dryer, I asked the delivery guy to leave one of the huge boxes – a perfect foundation for a puppet theatre. We got all the magenta paint rolled on, the silver lurex stage curtain staple gunned on, and a black doily pelmet attached. The toilet rolls have been sprayed silver so, next week, we can insert little torches for spotlights. All other decorations will be finished then, as well.
This project serves two purposes: 1) a holiday activity, and 2) something for the kids to prepare for each time we have a family dinner.
So, basically, I’m exhausted and unable to write a deep and meaningful post (again!) It also explains why this post is so late in the day (my time).

I’m also unwilling to write a post because I’m disappointed and sad in my fellow Fibromyalgia Support Facebook pages. As we have said before, we all need to work together. I wrote to approximately 40 different Facebook pages (personally), to which only 5 responded in any way, about posting the VISIBLE Army message.
Just SAD.
