Fibromyalgia Awareness Videos
What is Fibromyalgia?
International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is on May 12th but here, in Australia, people say “Fibro-My-What?“
We NEED to continue to spread awareness of this debilitating condition – not only on Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
All the names and faces in this video are real people who suffer with fibromyalgia everyday.
Not one of them looks that much different from you.
Most days, I get a message or comment from some-one who is lacking support from their nearest and dearest. Sometimes, it’s because you hide your pain, or you haven’t asked for help. Sometimes it’s because they just don’t get it.
I made this video because I am lucky enough to have a Mommy who loves me and tries to understand. (Sometimes I’m not so sure about the rest of the family.) But, because of this, these messages/comments upset me so much. Friends and family are supposed to be there for whenever you need them.
I’m hoping that presenting these people with this video might help.
And for a little bit of fun…
I wonder every day what it was I did to deserve this condition…
How about you?
My wish for every day…

Yesterday I was talking to a gentleman whose wife has FM, I told him about our Blog on FB. Thought it might help him to understand what his wife was going through. Then I started thinking wouldn’t it be nice if there was something out there for Husbands or people who take care of us that have FM. We can ell how we feel but there is nowhere that the ones who take care of us can express how they feel. JUst a thought. Thank you.
I’m sure there is, Clare. There are support groups for all kinds of things out there.
And, from my position as a sufferer, I don’t actually want to hear what it is like for the carers – I feel guilty enough as it is when I have to ask for too much help.
I know that might sound very selfish but I guess that’s the truth.
I understand how you feel, I really wasn’t thinking of them being on this blog, but if you knew of any or heard of any then I could pass the information on. Truthfully I’m a helper at heart & no matter how much pain I’m in I will help other people before I think of myself. I guess that is why I get tired so often, my biggest blessing is my dog who keeps me going. He knows when I’m in pain & even knows when I have been out long enough, he will head for home before I realize what he is doing. You shouldn’t feel guilty about asking for help after all we didn’t really ask to have this disability put on us. Just be grateful for the help you do get & thank the good Lord you have people to help you.
